Ava is a disability equity intake specialist within the Disability Equity Office. In this role, Ava provides case management support for the workplace reasonable accommodation process and accessibility barrier reports, administrative support for the Disability Equity Office, and manages the university-wide CART program. Ava also provides coordination, management, and logistical support for all events hosted by the Disability Equity Office.
Prior to joining ECRT, Ava worked in various parts of the University of Michigan, including in the College of Engineering and the Testing Accommodation Centers. Ava received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences and a certificate in Companion Animal Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While at UIUC, Ava discovered her passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. She is dedicated to creating a more accessible and inclusive campus climate for people with disabilities.
In her free time, Ava enjoys promoting disability inclusion through advocacy, playing French horn in the Ann Arbor Civic Band and Dexter Community Band, hanging out with friends, enjoying Michigan in the summertime, and hanging out with her two cats, Monkey and Matzah. Ava is an active member of the Ann Arbor Jewish community.
