ECRT is dedicated to maintaining compliance and increasing awareness for disability and accessibility issues. The Disability Equity Office coordinates with a wide, diverse range of partners and leadership across the University to enhance universal access for people with disabilities. We view our mission as equal parts education, change, and facilitation.

The Disability Equity Office is the centralized office for coordinating compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other disability-related laws and regulations for the University of Michigan across Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint. The ADA applies to any qualified individual with a disability. This includes patients, visitors, students, faculty, staff, and applicants.
