Helen McDowell serves as an investigator in Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX. In this role, she specifically focuses on Title VI concerns involving students where she investigates reported discrimination based on the student’s race, color, or national origin.
Prior to this work, Helen began her career at Central Michigan University where she worked in their Civil Rights office and focused on the education, training, and response around issues related to Title IX, bias incident reporting structures, diversity, equity, and inclusion education, and equitable hiring practices in higher education.
Helen received her Master of Higher Education Administration degree and Bachelor in Business Entrepreneurship from Central Michigan University. In her free time, Helen enjoys spending time with family, getting involved in her church community, cooking delicious meals, tending to her 200+ plants, and spending time with her pets.
