Brandon Laninga

Intake and Supportive Measures Specialist Senior

Brandon Laninga serves as a senior intake and supportive measures specialist for the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (ECRT). In this role, he serves as an early and consistent point of contact for the parties when a report is received and throughout a resolution process.

Prior to joining ECRT, Brandon served as the Title IX Coordinator and District 504 Coordinator for the Lansing School District, where he led initiatives to ensure safe, inclusive learning environments and compliance with federal and state regulations. Prior to that, he worked as a civil rights investigator at Michigan State University, conducting thorough investigations and promoting equitable practices within the university community. 

Brandon holds a BS in psychology from Ferris State University and a MS in Education with a specialization in workforce education and development from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys reading and hanging out with his grumpy talkative cat, Sophie Shania Markus Twain Laninga.
