Elizabeth Topping is an investigator in the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (ECRT). In this role, she responds to complaints related to reports of civil rights violations and sexual and gender-based misconduct at the University.
Prior to ECRT, Elizabeth served in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development civil rights enforcement office, the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. There she began work in investigations of alleged fair housing violations and later served in Policy and Legislative Initiatives advancing civil rights interests throughout the federal government. Largely owed to serving in the Air Force herself and her Army spouse’s assignments, Elizabeth moved 14 times in 12 years. She is proud to be back home in Michigan today.
Elizabeth earned her JD from the University of Colorado and BS from Central Michigan University. She loves spending time whether active or lazy with her family, and continuously chipping away at home improvement projects.
